GORDES

A magnificent village in the Luberon

Gordes is situated at an altitude of 340 metres on a rocky promontory in the Monts de Vaucluse and is considered as one of the most beautiful villages in Provence. With panoramic views over the Calavon valley and the Luberon mountain, Gordes pleases us with its timeless charm and unique dry-stone architecture.

Le Village des Bories

A testimony from the past

Located only 1.5 km west of Gordes, is this exceptional open-air museum that consists of a collection of traditional dry-stone huts. Originally built for agricultural and seasonal cattle breeding, today the museum village takes you back to Provence's rural past.

Abbey Notre-Dame de Sénanque

A Cistercian masterpiece

Founded on 23 June 1148, Sénanque Abbey is one of the four major Cistercian abbeys in Provence (along with Le Thoronet, Aiguebelle and Silvacane). Still used today, the abbey is a place of prayer and tranquillity, especially known for its blooming lavender fields in summer.

Oppède-le-Vieux

A well-preserved medieval village

This historic village, perched on the northern flank of the Luberon mountain, is tucked between forests, rocks and hills. Wander its narrow, cobbled streets and discover:

Rustrel

The Colorado Provençal

This coloured landscape was shaped by human activity and erosion. The colourful rocks, once mined for their ochre, offer a unique landscape in Europe.

ROUSSILLON

The Ochre Trail

Roussillon is one of the Luberon's most beautiful villages, known for its ochre rocks that change colour depending on sunlight. 
Le Sentier des Ocres offers two hiking routes (30 or 60 minutes) and immerses you in the geological and industrial history of this striking rock.

GARGAS

The mines of Bruoux

Descend into the underground corridors of Gargas, remnants of the former ochre mines. This 40km-long maze with orange-red walls bears witness to the region's rich ochre industry.
